As a child growing up in Michigan it was a “rule” that you couldn’t wear white after Labor Day. My mother always reminded me of this too…even if it was warm out. In the North this might hold true, but here in Florida where the days are still long & hot, white is still perfectly acceptable…especially if you’re wearing this dress.
I found this gorgeous sheer lace dress on SheIn for TBScon in Charleston. I immediately fell in love with the style and delicate detailing, and thought it would be perfect for a muggy night in the South. THEN…I saw the price. This dress is under $36! Can you believe it!? And amazingly enough it is incredibly well made. I had it drycleaned (just to make sure it didn’t disinegrate) and it’s still in perfect condition.
The only thing you have to be careful about is the sheerness. Yes, this is what makes it amazing but it’s also what makes keeping your lady parts “tucked in” very tricky. I ordered a size large and still had to wear spanx to ensure my saddle bags didn’t come peaking out from below. The dress in and of itself is a nice length, but the solid sheath underneath is much shorter then the lace part…so be careful! Also, the back is sheer so I slapped on some of these bad boys here. I happen to have these because I am in fact still breastfeeding, BUT I never realized what perfect booby/nipple pads they make! I’ve found a new trick!
So all in all I am obsessed with this dress and think that rules are made to be broken…so buy the white dress and werk it girl! P.S. My clutch is last year from Vera Bradley (sad face) but I’ve linked up some other options below.
